Course Objective

Students will graduate from this shop with the ability to enter into the Carpenters Union.

Students will graduate from this shop with the ability to enter directly into the construction industry.

Students will graduate from this shop with the ability to do carpentry related jobs for themselves.
Course Description
This course covers the vital skills necessary to enter the residential and light commercial carpentry trade. Skills range from safety, hand and power tool usage, to framing and finish trim. Students will gain hands-on experience of most construction components for the complete construction process of various jobs from start to finish.
Classroom Rules

Students should always be on time and not leave until the bell rings.

Participation grades will be affected by poor attitude, laziness, profanity, and misconduct.

All assignments should be completed or handed in when due.

Respect all school property. This includes but not limited to the building, equipment, material, tools, teachers, staff, and other students.
Shop Rules

Safety glasses and masks must be worn at all times.
- No Phones

Do not operate any machines without permission.

Tools should be used for proper purpose only.

No running or horseplay.
-
No headphones.
-
Safety violations will result in lower grades.

All tools should be put away when done with them.

All work areas should be kept clean.

Daily Grade- Participation = 0-100
Weekly Grade- Average Participation Grade for week= 0-100
