ILLNESS: If your child is sick with fever or vomiting, PLEASE keep him/her home. Students MUST be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school (fever is defined as subjective fever (feeling feverish) or a measured temperature of 100.4°F or higher).
If your child is sick with vomiting (more than 2 times in the previous 24 hours and not from a known non-communicable condition, e.g., gastrointestinal reflux), he/she cannot return to school until symptoms have resolved for 24 hours.
Students who develop a fever or vomit more than 2 times at school must be picked up promptly and stay home the following day. Call the attendance office at ext. 3010 to report the absence. If you take your child to the doctor, request a note and send it in with your child upon their return to school.
GYM EXCUSES: If your child cannot participate in the full gym program due to an injury or other medical condition, a note from a parent/guardian is required. Any disability lasting longer than 2 days requires a note from a medical physician, and must include any specific restrictions and/or additional school accommodations.
