Admissions Overview
IF YOUR CHILD PARTICIPATED IN THE ADMISSIONS EXAM, YOU WILL BE CONTACTED IN MID TO LATE FEBRUARY TO INFORM YOU IF YOU MADE THE NEXT ROUND, AN INTERVIEW. OTHERWISE, YOU WILL RECEIVE A LETTER THANKING YOUR FOR APPLYING AND PLEASE APPLY TO OUR OTHER MAGNET SCHOOLS: PISCATAWAY, EAST BRUNSWICK OR PERTH AMBOY.
All students who apply participate in a selective admissions process. The process considers middle school grades and a school-developed assessment of language arts and mathematics and writing. The number of applicants to the Academy has increased each year since the school’s inception, and each subsequent year reflects strong competition for a limited number of seats.Students, with the approval of their parents or guardians, may submit an application to the Middlesex County Magnet Schools. Applications are available to the middle schools of all municipalities within Middlesex County. Students are offered admission after successfully completing the application process and admission test.In order to apply to the Middlesex County Magnet School Woodbridge Academy, a student must be in eighth grade during the application season, successfully complete a full year of Algebra 1 by June of their eighth-grade year and live in Middlesex County. Students taking Algebra I in the 8th grade will be required to complete Geometry with us over the summer if accepted. Applications will be available in October 2024, so please check back at that time.
