Admissions Overview
All students who apply participate in a selective admissions process. The process considers middle school grades and a school-developed assessment in language arts and mathematics and writing. The number of applicants to the Academy has increased each year since the school’s inception in September 2000, and each subsequent year reflects strong competition for a limited number of seats.
Students, with the approval of their parents or guardians, may submit an application to the Edison Academy Magnet School. Applications are available at the middle schools of all municipalities within Middlesex County. Students are offered admission after successfully completing the application process and admission test.
In order to apply to the Edison Academy Magnet School, a student must be in eighth grade during the application season, successfully complete a full year of Algebra 1 by June of their eighth-grade year and live in Middlesex County. An application may be obtained from your child's middle school counselor or from our website under the Admissions Tab. For additional information, see FAQs.
