    Capítulo Luisa Valenzuela

In 2003 the earliest members of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica named their chapter after the honorable and inspirational author, Luisa Valenzuela. Ms. Valenzuela, who resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina, responded to the members' request to use her name in the chapter with an emphatic yes.

The Spanish Honor Society recognizes the highest achievers who have committed to at least 3 years of Spanish studies at the Academy, and will continue studies in the Hispanic language in the future. Induction takes place annually in the Fall. Once inducted, SHS members will partake in community service projects.
