NASEF
-
NASEF, or North American Scholastic Esports Federation, is an organization that sponsors Esports competition at the high school level. Games involved include several games other than League of Legends, notably Overwatch. For more information on NASEF and the games provided you can click on the link at the top.
As of the 2019-2020 school year, HSEL, an alternative platform has been unable to obtain a license to League of Legends and so NASEF has been another free alternative, with possible plans to participate in PlayVS.
NASEF's prizing is a grant towards the Top 4 Placing teams and there are many small competitions for individuals to develop skills outside of just playing video games.
General questions and answers

When are meetings and other events?
Posted by:Our club starts meetings and practices in the Winter after soccer season, and in general, fall sports end. We still organize events out of school (most likely on Discord) in the fall though, so make sure to keep up to date on that. Our matches in the 2019 year were played on Wednesdays right after school, starting ASAP (3:30 PM). These were weekly and on the same day for the 8-week duration, and both our Varsity team and Junior-Varsity team participated.

What if I want to compete another game?
Posted by:First, the games must be offered on the HSEL page located here (or any other major high school level Esports provider). If you are the only individual wanting to participate in that game at the time, a high level of competence is expected. For other team games such as Overwatch and Valorant, it is expected for you to find a leader and the necessary members, although we will help in searching for members.

How are teams determined?
Posted by:Active rosters will, for the most part, be determined by solo queue rank. If there are two players who are close, it will be up to the captain's discretion on who is the better fit. Because rank plays a major factor in determining our rosters, level 30s and above will be most common. Alternatively, participating in meetings is open to everyone and we hope by practicing and playing you will be able to reach a level that is considered for our teams.
