In 1914, the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners (then, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders) established its vocational-technical school district to fulfill the need for occupational training throughout the State of New Jersey.
Today, training a workforce for a rapidly changing economy is an issue of vital importance for our nation's economic health and continuing social stability. District leaders help ensure the continued quality of our local and national workforce.
Middlesex County Magnet Schools provide an impressive pool of employees within the region. An impressive 79% of graduates work in the surrounding area, enriching the very heart of Central Jersey's municipalities with their talent and dedication. The magnet schools offer career programs with courses at the:- high school level,
- post-secondary levels,
- adult evening schools,
- apprenticeship programs,
- programming serving special education students,
- and in our local community businesses and industries.
High school students meet all the academic requirements for graduation mandated by the New Jersey Department of Education and graduate with competitive skills to enter the labor force each year. Following the vision of Superintendent Jorge E. Diaz, the district is actively refining its curriculum, embracing new technology, and preparing new students for college and career readiness.
