Organized for Innovation

  • In 1914, the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners (then, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders) established our district to fulfill the need for occupational training in the county.

Today, training a workforce for a rapidly changing economy is an issue of vital importance for our nation’s economic health and continuing social stability. The district leadership of Middlesex County Magnet Schools helps to ensure the continued quality of our local and national workforce.

We provide an impressive pool of employees for our county. Approximately 79% of graduates move on to secure employment in many municipalities across the county. The district offers career programs with courses at the:

    • high school level,
    • post-secondary levels,
    • adult evening schools,
    • apprenticeship programs,
    • programming serving special education students,
    • and in our local community businesses and industries.

High school students must meet all the academic requirements for graduation that are mandated by the New Jersey Department of Education and obtain a marketable skill to enter the competitive labor force. Graduates receive a New Jersey High School Endorsed Diploma or certificate for full-time students and shared-time students, respectively.
