Alumni Spotlight: Magnet Schools Culinary graduate pursues law in London
As Paola Guzman-Morgan studied culinary arts at Perth Amboy Magnet School, she was learning things that will come in handy in a future legal career, she says. A 2012 graduate of what was then Perth Amboy Tech, just a few blocks from her home, she now is in London pursuing a law degree and an ambition to work in family law.

Jan. 24 — New Year, New Developments at Middlesex County Magnet Schools! It seems as though we had just started the new school year … and now we are at the halfway mark. The news of so many wonderful developments in our district has helped time fly by pleasantly.

Magnet Schools film student earns national honor
Dec. 6 — Lamont Harris took up photography at the age of eight when his father handed him a camera. He is now a Middlesex County Magnet Schools junior, and his two-minute film “Flashbacks” was an official selection at the largest student film festival in the world and a nominee as Best Adventure/Travel Film by the Teen Indie Awards.

Nov. 1 — We have welcomed new faculty and administrators and, of course, our fabulous freshmen. Since our last newsletter, we have graduated 500 new alumni and expect great things from them. This newsletter will continue to keep all our constituents up to date on the achievements of our students, staff, and alumni.

Our school has enrolled with HELPme, by STOP it Solutions. HELPme is a technology platform to assist our school community with asking for and privately accessing a wide variety of help and resources.
The HELPme app works by empowering students, parents, and staff to confidentially access help by way of three main features:

GET HELP can be used to anonymously request help from local school contacts, including Messenger, which allows anonymous two-way communication with school contacts and help requesters.

CRISIS TEXT LINE can be accessed directly from the app to text with non-local trained crisis counselors

GET RESOURCES can be used to search community, local, state, and federal resources and helplines
