MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Two Middlesex County Magnet Schools have been ranked among the top four public high schools in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report.
Edison Academy Magnet School, which offers career majors in electrical and computer engineering and civil and mechanical engineering, placed 39th among all public high schools in the nation and second in New Jersey. Woodbridge Academy Magnet School, with majors in health careers and biomedical science, was 65th in the nation and fourth in New Jersey.
Both academies are annually ranked among the best in the nation by multiple rating services.
“We know that all five of the Middlesex County Magnet Schools are among the best public schools anywhere,” said Superintendent of Schools Jorge E. Diaz. “It’s always nice to have that affirmed by outside observers.”
The Middlesex County Magnet Schools, formerly the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools, the first full-time county vocational school district in the nation, also has campuses in East Brunswick, Perth Amboy, and Piscataway, offering more than 30 career majors. Perth Amboy Magnet School, Edison Academy Magnet School, and Woodbridge Academy Magnet School have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.
