    Automotive Technology

    Program of Study

     

     

    Students that are interested in a career in the automotive technology field are encouraged to enroll in this program. The Automotive Technology program provides students the opportunity to excel in specialized training of automotive engine operations, vehicle maintenance and repair, steering and suspension systems, computerized engine controls, brake systems, electrical systems, fuel and ignition systems and front end alignment. A challenging curriculum prepares students with opportunities to master skills required to pass Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification examinations. Graduates may pursue employment, continue their education or enroll in an articulated Associate Degree program in Automotive Technologies at Middlesex County College.

     

     

    Students may enroll in this program in any one of three campus locations (must apply to the campus choice):

     

    MCVTS - East Brunswick (112 Rues Lane)

     

    MCVTS - Perth Amboy (457 High Street)

     

    MCVTS - Piscataway (21 Suttons Lane)

    Criteria

    Credit Type

    ·        Students who successfully pass the Challenge Test or corresponding ASE test will gain Advanced Placement for the UTI Automotive Technology course that corresponds to the automotive areas that they were enrolled in at the high school or vocational center.

    ·       Students must start their training at UTI within one year of High School Graduation in order to be eligible to receive this benefit.
