Supermarket Careers/Culinary Assisting & Foods Employment (CAFE)

    The CAFE program will prepare students to serve under Chefs, Culinary Experts and Commercial Food Services Employers to assist in the preparation, service, packaging, sales and operations of commercial establishments that prepare, serve or manufacture food and related products. Students will be prepared to be gainfully employed as kitchen support staff, commercial food preparation workers, institutional food service employees, restaurant and food vender front and back of the house assistants and/or other food related employment opportunities. The curriculum includes instruction in safety, communications, food preparation, sanitization, service, sales and dining facilities operations, support and maintenance. By the end of the program, students will obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification.


     This program is located on our Piscataway campus.
